Why did Sorolla choose Roncal for one of the places to capture his “Vision of Spain”? Undoubtedly, his interest in costumes was a big reason, since the Roncal councilor or mayor´s costume is one of the oldest in the country.

In that way, Sorolla did a preliminary study of the Roncal costumes types. That is why we focus on the interpretation of the suit and its pattern for the design of this porcelain tableware.
